SCADA system is a kind of data acquisition and monitoring system widely used in the industrial field. It is mainly composed of three parts, which are data acquisition part, communication part and monitoring part. In this article, we will detail these three major components of a SCADA system.
The data acquisition part is the core part of the SCADA system. It is responsible for collecting data from various devices in the field, such as temperature, pressure, flow rate, voltage, etc. The data acquisition part is usually composed of sensors, data acquisition modules and signal processors. The sensor is responsible for converting the physical quantities into electrical signals, the data acquisition module is responsible for converting the electrical signals output by the sensor into digital signals, and the signal processor is responsible for processing the digital signals for subsequent analysis and storage. The design of the data acquisition part should take into account the acquisition accuracy and real-time performance to ensure that the collected data is accurate.
The communication part is the part responsible for data transmission in the SCADA system. It transmits the collected data from the field to the monitoring center, and also transmits the instructions of the monitoring center to the field. The communication part is usually composed of wired communication and wireless communication. Wired communication mainly uses optical fiber, twisted pair and other transmission media, wireless communication mainly uses radio waves, microwave, infrared and other transmission media. The design of the communication part should take into account the rate, transmission distance and anti-interference of data transmission to ensure the stability and reliability of data transmission.
Finally, the monitoring part is the part of the SCADA system responsible for data processing and presentation. It analyzes and processes the collected data, and displays it to users in the form of graphics and reports. The monitoring part usually consists of computers, servers, databases, network devices, etc. Computers and servers are responsible for data processing and storage, databases are responsible for data storage and management, and network devices are responsible for data transmission and sharing. The design of the monitoring part should take into account the speed of data processing, the capacity of data storage and the bandwidth of network transmission to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of data processing.
The three major components of SCADA system are data acquisition part, communication part and monitoring part. The data acquisition part is responsible for collecting field data, the communication part is responsible for transmitting data, and the monitoring part is responsible for processing and displaying data. These three parts cooperate with each other to form a fully functional, stable and reliable SCADA system.
